Questions
How is a weighted grade worked out?
Each category's average counts by its share of the grade. With homework at 92% worth 20% and exams at 78% worth 40%, and nothing else graded yet, your grade is (92 × 20 + 78 × 40) ÷ 60 = 82.7%. Categories with no scores yet are left out until they have one.
What does "what if" mean here?
It fills every category you haven't scored yet with the average you choose, and shows the grade you'd finish with. The table under it works the other way: the average you need on everything left to finish with each letter.
How do dropped grades work?
Set how many of a category's lowest scores are dropped, as your syllabus says. They're taken out before that category's average is worked out. One score always stays.
Can I type points instead of percentages?
Yes. Type 18/20 for 18 points out of 20, or just 90 for 90%. Separate scores with commas or spaces.
Does it keep what I type?
No. It's worked out on this page and nothing is sent or saved. A pasted syllabus is read in your browser too.
